French Fries

French Fries: The Easy way

Ingredients

  • 6 large potatoes (normally one potato will be good enough for one person)
  • Edible oil
  • Salt

Method

  1. Cut the potatoes into strips (fingers shape) of about 1/3 to 1/2-inch thickness and width.
  2. Soak potatoes in ice cold water for 1 hour at room temperature.
  3. Drain the water and pat dry the strips of potatoes with paper towels.
  4. Heat edible oil in deep frying pan.
  5. Place potato strips in a single layer in deep fry basket; fry in hot oil for about 3 to 4 minutes or until the potato strips turn golden brown and tender. We call them french fries now.
  6. Remove the french fries from oil and drain them on paper towels.
  7. Repeat this process for all the potato strips.
  8. Season the french fries with salt to taste.
